This privacy policy describes how Ad Valorem Inc. ("Ad Valorem") collects and uses certain personal information through the website www.advataxes.ca and the software Advataxes. This privacy policy does not address information collection through other sources such as cocktails and seminars. The website and the software are owned and operated by Ad Valorem, a corporation incorporated under the laws of Quebec, Canada. By using the website and the software, you are agreeing with the terms of the privacy policy and the terms of use.
This privacy policy is applicable on the website www.advataxes.ca and the software advataxes. Ad Valorem is not responsible for the privacy policy of any websites where there may be a link to, part of the current website.
There are parts of the website that can be accessed without registering and entering any personal information. However, the software section is restricted to registered users.
Personal information that users could be asked to provide are: name, email, phone number and organisation name. These personal information need to be true, current, up-to-date and complete.
Ad Valorem will collect personal information directly when provided by users, e.g. for registering purposes. It will also automatically collect information when you users visit its website, such as computer's operating system, Internet Protocol (IP) address, access times, browser type and language. This information will be collected solely to provide our services.
Ad Valorem will use personal information when required to process purchase orders, to provide an employee expense report online service and to provide technical supports.

The software environment, which is composed of the website and the app, contains a number of measures to protect the privacy, the confidentiality and the integrity of users' personal information. The software operates in a secured and controlled environment using Secure Socket Layers (SSL). The information is protected using data encryption, server authentication, and firewalls. Online sessions will be secured with logons, personal identification (user name and password), and session time-out.
In case the password or the account of a user is or look compromised, the user in question should contact without delay Ad Valorem, so that corrective actions could be taken.
Users should be careful regarding fraudulent use of email, e.g. spoof sites, spam and chain letter email. Users should protect their computers from infections, e.g. viruses, worms and Trojan horses.
The website and the software are located in one or several servers located in Canada in a datacenter. Measures in Canada relating to data safety may differ from the ones in other countries.
